Programme Overview
ATDERA's simulation training programme uses high-fidelity simulation technology and structured scenario design to develop clinical performance in high-stakes, high-pressure environments — including intensive care, operating theatre emergencies, and acute medicine scenarios — over one to two weeks at partner simulation centres in Turkey.
Simulation scenarios are built around realistic patient presentations drawn from the clinical environment most relevant to the participant group. High-fidelity mannequins, realistic monitoring equipment, and physically accurate medication and equipment props are used throughout to maximise scenario immersion. Scenarios are designed to require active clinical decision-making, team communication, and resource management — not simply technical task performance — ensuring that participants develop the cognitive and interpersonal skills that define effective clinical performance under pressure.
Crisis resource management (CRM) principles are embedded throughout the programme. Participants rotate through both leadership and supporting roles within scenarios, experiencing the demands of each position and developing an understanding of how effective teams distribute cognitive load and communicate under stress. Each simulation block is followed by a structured debrief facilitated by faculty trained in debrief methodology. Debriefs use a structured model — such as the Advocacy-Inquiry framework — to examine decision-making without blame attribution, creating a psychologically safe learning environment. Participants leave with a structured record of scenarios completed and a personal development plan based on debrief findings.
What You'll Cover
- Attend programme orientation covering simulation equipment, scenario structure, and debrief methodology
- Participate in introductory scenarios to establish baseline clinical and communication performance
- Rotate through leadership and supporting roles in high-fidelity ICU and OR emergency scenarios
- Practice crisis resource management behaviours including closed-loop communication and task distribution
- Participate in structured post-scenario debriefs using Advocacy-Inquiry or equivalent debrief framework
- Review video playback of selected scenario segments during debrief to support specific performance analysis
- Complete a personal development plan with faculty at programme conclusion based on aggregated debrief findings
