Overview

What does this involve?

  • A dental implant is a medical-grade titanium root placed surgically into the jawbone to replace a missing tooth. Over a period of three to six months the bone fuses biologically with the implant surface — a process called osseointegration — at which point a custom ceramic or zirconia crown, bridge, or full-arch prosthesis is fitted on top.
  • An implant restores the chewing function and contour of a natural tooth while protecting the surrounding biology. The titanium root preserves the alveolar bone, which otherwise resorbs after tooth loss, and removes the long-term load that conventional bridge work would place on adjacent teeth. For full-arch cases, a fixed implant-supported prosthesis avoids the palatal coverage and intermittent stability associated with removable dentures.
  • Through the ATDERA Care Network, treatment in Turkey covers single-tooth implants, multi-unit implant-supported bridges, and full-arch rehabilitations (All-on-4 and All-on-6). Each case is reviewed individually by a verified partner implantologist before any pathway is proposed, and the surgical and prosthetic stages are scheduled around the patient's clinical timeline rather than a fixed itinerary. Internationally certified implant systems used through the network include Straumann and Nobel Biocare alongside other manufacturers; the specific system is selected at the case-review stage based on clinical site, prosthetic plan, and the patient's preference, and is recorded in the manufacturer's implant passport that travels with the patient.

Who is this for?

  • Adults with one or more missing teeth who are seeking a fixed, long-term restoration that behaves and is maintained like a natural tooth.
  • Patients with failing crowns, bridges, or extensively restored teeth that can no longer be conserved with further restorative dentistry, where extraction and implant replacement is the more biologically conservative option for the surrounding teeth.
  • Patients with an edentulous or near-edentulous arch who are considering a fixed implant-supported prosthesis as an alternative to a removable conventional or implant-retained denture.
  • Patients who have been told they are not candidates for implants elsewhere — typically because of reduced bone volume, sinus position, or systemic factors. ATDERA arranges a second-opinion remote case review covering bone volume, sinus and nerve mapping, and alternative techniques such as angled posterior implants or zygomatic anchorage where indicated.

Key considerations

  • Single missing tooth where the adjacent teeth are healthy, and preserving them by avoiding bridge preparation is clinically preferable.
  • Multiple adjacent missing teeth where an implant-supported bridge is more durable than a tooth-supported alternative.
  • Complete or near-complete tooth loss in one or both jaws, where a fixed full-arch implant prosthesis is being evaluated against a removable denture.
  • Failing long-span bridge or repeatedly fractured restorations on a structurally compromised tooth that has reached the end of its restorative life.
  • Long-term denture intolerance, including poor retention, soft-tissue irritation, or compromised speech and chewing function.

What to Expect

Before

Clinical Evaluation

2–4 weeks before

A verified partner implantologist reviews your case remotely from a CBCT scan, panoramic radiograph, dental and medical history, and clinical photographs. The review confirms candidacy, identifies the appropriate implant configuration and prosthetic plan, and rules out the need for adjunctive procedures such as bone grafting or sinus lift before any travel plan is made. ATDERA then issues a written, customised estimate covering the clinician fee, implant brand, prosthesis material, and any adjunctive surgical requirement.

On-Site Planning

1 day before

On arrival in Turkey, the patient meets the partner implantologist for an in-person consultation, intra-oral examination, and digital impression. The pre-operative plan is confirmed, the implant trajectory is finalised against the CBCT data, and a surgical guide is fabricated where the case is being performed under guided surgery. The ATDERA care coordinator confirms the surgical schedule and the post-operative review timeline before the patient leaves the clinic.

During

Implant Placement

30 min – 4 hours

Implants are placed surgically under local anaesthesia or IV sedation, with healing abutments fitted to shape soft-tissue contour during the integration period. Single-tooth and multi-unit cases typically conclude within 30 minutes to two hours; full-arch placements take up to four hours. Where the immediate-loading protocol is clinically indicated (most commonly in full-arch cases) a temporary fixed prosthesis is attached the same day so the patient leaves the clinic with a functional dentition.

After

Recovery and Return Home

5–7 days

A 24-hour post-operative review confirms surgical-site stability and reviews the analgesic, chlorhexidine rinse, and soft-diet protocol. Most patients return home within five to seven days of surgery. The ATDERA care coordinator schedules remote video reviews within 1st week, 6th week, and 3rd month with the partner implantologist on file, supported by photographs and any in-country radiographic check the patient's home dentist arranges where appropriate.

Final Crown, Bridge, or Full-Arch Prosthesis

3–6 months

Once osseointegration is confirmed by clinical and radiographic assessment, the patient returns to Turkey for fitting of the final ceramic or zirconia crown, bridge, or full-arch prosthesis. This second visit is shorter — typically two to four working days — and ends the implant pathway. Annual follow-up reviews of implant stability, occlusion, and oral hygiene are scheduled remotely thereafter through the ATDERA care coordinator.
